before i begin, i'd like to say "d'awwh. manateee"

now that i've got that out of the way, let's get on with the show

vision: i don't know if you used a reference for this or not, but before i saw the title, i could tell right from the thumb that it was a manatee, not a seal or otherwise. it's quite a realistic sculpture.

originality: i do not believe that i've ever seen a sculpture of a manatee, so, five. haha.

technique: knowing sculpey clay pretty well myself, i know that it's easier to work with than pottery clay in the sense that if you add on pieces, (like a flipper maybe) you can blend the clay to flawlessly match up with what you were sticking it to. you've done just that. there's no tacky bumps and ridges where you (if you used this method) added the appendages (as i'll call them) making the piece pretty seamless. my only complaints with your technique are how some of the ridges seem too deep and that the glaze/paint you used seems a little blotchy. next time, i'd suggest using another coat, and if you want colour variation, mix the other colours and apply them seperately.

impact: over all, an adorable piece. just a couple of minor flaws that are fairly easy to fix (if you chose to do so). job well done! i look forward to looking through the rest of your gallery~
